The following diagram shows the layout of the Desktop, which you can always return to by clicking the home icon :
(1) Office
You can open the Office by clicking on the menu icon . Click the name of the file you wish to open (for example: Master data – Companies).
The Office closes as soon as you click anywhere outside of it. This give you more space for the application in which you are currently working.
(2) Desktop
Here you will find tiles. Tiles are individual elements that you can drag and drop anywhere you like on the Desktop. To drag a tile, place the mouse pointer in the upper area of the tile. The mouse pointer changes to
A tile can contain a shortcut to an overview, application, or data record. A tile can also contain a widget – a small application within a larger software application. Widgets give you an overview of pending tasks and offer the simplest shortcut to specific tasks.
(3) User area
The user area displays a badge icon indicating the number of unread messages. Click the icon to open the menu. There you will see a preview of all messages. From here, you can also log off.
Click Show Read to also display messages that you’ve already read.
Click the preview to open the entire message in the message area.
