Databases and operating systems in your IT landscape are part of your AEB solution. To ensure trouble-free operation of your AEB software as an on-premise installation, you must keep it and any other necessary components up to date.
Upgrade to a current database
There is now a need for action if you run ASISST4 in your own data center and are using the Microsoft database MS SQL Server 2008 RS Service Pack 2. This version has no longer been supported by the manufacturer since October 2015 and AEB will also no longer support it as from 1 May 2021.
This means: If you are still using this database version in conjunction with an AEB product and errors occur, they can only be remedied by upgrading to a current database. This is a good opportunity to put your existing ASSIST4 landscape to the test and to take the first steps towards a transformation to new AEB solutions. We would be happy to discuss the details of the transformation with you in a personal conversation.
AEB support aligned with manufacturer support
In the future, AEB will support old versions of operating systems, Oracle databases, and MS SQL servers only as long as they are still supported by the manufacturer. The handling of SAP® versions remains untouched by this. For SAP® versions, the formerly stated regulations continue to apply. The current regulations on releases and end of support can be found on AEB's support pages in the release planning section.
