Customers will need to use ICS2 to make safety and security declarations for moving goods into Northern Ireland from mainland GB and from outside the EU.
ICS2 will replace the existing ICS NI system, and applies only to Northern Ireland, the rest of the UK having it's own safety and security system.
Timelines
For freight moved by rail, road and maritime, there are 3 deployment windows by which you must start using ICS2 instead of ICS NI.
- 03/06/24 - 04/12/24: Maritime and inland waterways carriers
- 04/12/24 - 01/04/25: Maritime and inland waterways house level filers
- 01/04/25 - 01/09/25: Road and rail carriers
Registration
