As a consequence of accepting the Union Customs Code (UCC) in the heart of the EU, all customs systems of all member states need to be adapted, including the French Delta system. Related to this rollout, your French locations may need to update their existing customs authorization and EORI number.
Customs Authorization for Export
French Customs shall update existing customs authorizations without any action from you. To ensure this is happening, you can contact your local French customs office. Here you will find a list of French customs offices.
EORI number format
- Please, note that you can only use the new Delta export system starting in mid-December if you are in possession of an EORI number in the new format.
The EORI number format for France-based entities has changed and is now linked to a company's registered head office (SIREN), rather than to the establishment (SIRET). The new EORI SIREN number will consist of the prefix "FR" followed by the company's 9-digit SIREN number.
Even if your company already has an EORI linked to its head office, but it still contains FR + 14 digits, you must apply via the SOPRANO-EORI platform for a new one.
All companies of OEA (Opérateur Economique Agréé) are an exception, as they already have an EORI SIREN.
- A request to your local customs office should clarify if there is a need for you to take action. The official deadline to switch to the new format is 31 December 2025.
