FedEx has changed the authorization and technology of its web services. You must therefore migrate to the new OAuth 2.0 authorization and from the SOAP to the REST format.
- Migration is required for the following country-specific FedEx connections available in Carrier Connect: Europe, France, USA, APAC/MEISA.
- Carrier Event Service is not affected by the migration.
Deadline: Migration to OAuth and REST by March 31, 2026
- The changeover to the new OAuth authorization must be completed by March 31, 2026. After that, shipping with FedEx SOAP web services is no longer possible worldwide.
- Approval by FedEx is not necessary.
Collective customs clearance
Do you use the “FedEx International Priority DirectDistribution® - Child” and “FedEx International Priority DirectDistribution® - Master” value-added services?
Migration is not yet possible for collective customs clearance.
Wait with the migration until we inform you via a release note when this shipping scenario (“FedEx International Priority DirectDistribution® - Child” and “FedEx International Priority DirectDistribution® - Master” value-added services) is available for the REST format. Find the release notes for Carrier Connect here.
You can already migrate all other services and value-added services for OAuth and REST, provided you manage them in a separate account.
Self-service migration possible
This migration guide will help you to carry out the migration yourself:
