Use of AI in your Product Classification application

In Product Classification you can use AI features to simplify your classification processes. Until now, custom machine learning and global machine learning were available to you. This enabled you to achieve better results based on data collected within Product Classification.

Now available: Classification using generative artificial intelligence (reasoning)

With the February 2026 service pack, you can now benefit from an additional AI model – generative artificial intelligence (reasoning) – and thus optimize your processes even further. The model enables the determination of an AI-based proposal by transferring material data available in the system to generative AI models and subsequent further processing. The main advantage of this is the optimized traceability of the proposed result. In this way, you not only receive an explanation of the general product understanding on which the determination is based, but also a justification of the proposal determined. Justification is provided both in text form and by means of a specified confidence level. In this way, you can quickly and easily evaluate the proposed result and decide for yourself whether you want to accept the proposal or not.

Also available: Interactive classification with TariffPilot AI

You can also use interactive AI classification with TariffPilot, either in addition to or as an alternative to the other AI models. You use TariffPilot's artificial intelligence-based classification solution to find the correct commodity code in an interactive and comprehensible manner. The following commodity codes can be determined with the TariffPilot classificaiton solution:

• 8-digit commodity codes for export from Germany
• 11-digit commodity code for import into Germany

For individual or combined use

A total of four AI models are now available in Product Classification. Depending on your requirements, you can choose either individual models or a combination of models in order to obtain the correct classification proposal as quickly as possible. Good to know: The confirmation of proposed classifications can have a positive impact on the results of other AI models. For example, you can confirm proposals determined using generative artificial intelligence so that they are automatically transferred to the master data. This automatically optimizes the custom machine learning, for example, which "learns" from this proposal.
