The update to kernel version 4.4 provides you with numerous requested and long-awaited changes in your AEB application. In addition to a new filter concept, this includes accessibility and a revised design. Learn more here about the following optimizations:
New filter and search concept
As part of the alignment with Google Material Design, we replaced the existing filter field groups in all overviews with filter chips. We now use this concept uniformly in all AEB interfaces. After the switch, only the filters that you actually use will be displayed – this makes the screen tidier and saves a lot of space in the respective places. Of course, you can continue to use already saved views and favorites. You can learn more about the new concept in the corresponding article. Do you want to know immediately how to work with the new filters? You can find information about this in the article Working with the new filter and search concept.
Accessibility according to WCAG guidelines in AEB applications
Your optimized interface meets the requirements of the WCAG guidelines on AA level. This is particularly evident in the contrast of font color to background, as well as screen reader support for users with limited vision. All icons in the application are described by alt text in the browser.
The update includes numerous optimizations in the design of your AEB application. You can look forward to the following improvements:
New color concept
To further optimize your user experience, we are now using a consistent new color concept in the application that matches that of the nXt applications and the AEB website. This will enable you to recognize our applications and web pages at a glance by the colorful gradient at the top and bottom of each application page.
For optimized readability, we have decided to follow Google's Material Design Guidelines more closely. Therefore, we now use Roboto from Google Material as the default font.
New button design
As part of the alignment with Google Material Design, the buttons have been redesigned. Good for your orientation: You can always recognize controls that trigger a function by their blue color.
New field design on the login screen
Here, the new concept is particularly visible in the new field design. Important to know: The technology and functionality of the page has not changed and your login details will work as usual.
New icon design in the desktop widgets
To ensure consistency across AEB applications, the widgets on the desktop now use the same icon design as our nXt interface. The rest of the icons remain unaffected by this change.
