You have submitted your notification of arrival for an NCTS shipment and have not received unloading permission from customs. This may be due to the following reasons:
- Message delay/message disruption or maintenance work
- Customs inspection
- Error message on arrival notification

Message delay/disruption or maintenance work
There may currently be message delays, a message disruption or maintenance work currently being carried out on the customs system.
In the latter case, you would receive an error message (ERR) from the ATLAS system on your arrival notification with the following wording: (‘FTGW error: Office (DE001234) unknown. Due to technical problems, the message could not be transmitted correctly to customs.’).

Please also check with your customs office of destination to see whether unloading permission has been issued.
If there are currently delays, disruptions or maintenance work, contact your customs office and request verbal unloading permission. The fallback procedure is described in the ATLAS procedural instructions.
Alternatively, wait until ATLAS NCTS is available again. If you have received an error message, you must resend the arrival notification. To do this, follow the instructions in the assistant.

Customs inspection
In some cases, the customs office of destination may wish to inspect the goods for customs purposes. In this case, you will not be granted unloading permission, as a customs officer will visit your company.

Error message
After sending the arrival notification, you will receive an error message instead of the unloading permission.
- Check whether there was a typing error when entering the MRN.
Error Text Possible solution [VEE00202] KOPF.MRN: ungültige Nachrichtenreihenfolge (Ankunftsanzeige bereits empfangen) (Zeiger: "/DETSNF/TransitOperation/MRN") Customs has already received an arrival notification for this MRN.
If there is no other arrival notification for this in your system, another ATLAS participant has submitted it.
Solution: Check with your freight forwarder to see if they have completed the transit.

- The process has already been completed.

Solution: Contact your customs office of destination.
If the customs office of destination cannot help you, submit an inquiry to the ITZ Bund - Federal Information Technology Center.
Use the European Commission's Tracking a Shipping MRN webpage (for transit and export operations only) to check the status of your shipment.
