During the NCTS5 transition period some data elements will not be available to use. The transition period is the period during which NCTS5 is live, but remains compatible with countries yet to switch over to NCTS5. For the UK, currently, the transition period is scheduled to run until 21 January 2025, after which the final state NCTS5 should go-live.
The following restrictions apply:
- Only one consignor can be specified in the declaration, if there are multiple consignors, then this field should be omitted.
- Only one house consignment can be submitted.
The following data should not be used during the transition period, and may result in an NCTS5 declaration being rejected:
- Consignment: Previous document

- Consignment: Transport document
- Consignment: Additional reference
- Consignment: Additional information
- Consignment & House consignment: Country of dispatch
- Consignment & House consignment: Reference number UCR
- Consignment & House consignment: Consignor
