The Joint Committee of the Regional Convention adopted transitional provisions on December 12, 2024. The validity period of the transitional provisions ends on December 31, 2025.
Since January 1, 2025, AEB has been converting those free trade agreements for the EU and Switzerland to the new rules for which the transitional provisions were not confirmed in time at national level.
On January 1, 2026, all other agreements of the Regional Convention will be converted to the revised rules. Read more about this in the article PEM rules 2026: Challenges and your next steps.
