Origin & Preferences Add-on for SAP® and the widget in O&P: Recommendations for how to proceed

Are you wondering what you should do first in connection with the changeover to the new PEM rules?
The following article provides recommendations from AEB experts regarding the order in which you should tackle your tasks in connection with the changeover to the new rules on January 1, 2025.

If you operate your O&P with the add-on for SAP in version 2.3...

...in the AEB data center

1. Add-on for SAP: Import the current transports (origin texts) as soon as possible at the turn of the year.
2. O&P: The service pack will be installed by AEB. The widget included in it will be available from January 1. Start the widget and complete all related steps.

...on-premises

1. Add-on for SAP: Import the current transports (origin texts) as soon as possible at the turn of the year.
2. O&P:
• Download and install the service pack.
• The widget will be available from January 1. Start the widget and complete all related steps.

When will the texts on invoices be changed?

When the transport (origin texts) is imported, only the changed texts will be available in your SAP system from January 1. If the transport is imported after January 1, the changed texts are activated immediately.
If you import the transport into SAP before the current service pack has been implemented in O&P and the widget has been executed, the new texts will still be printed, even if O&P has not yet calculated according to the updated rules.

Coordinate your internal processes to ensure that new texts are already being used before the new rules have been calculated.

Avoid the continued use of old texts even though you have calculated according to the new rules. This can lead to incorrectly issued declarations of origin. Therefore, make sure that the transport with the new texts is imported into SAP as soon as possible.

If you operate your O&P with the add-on for SAP in version 3.0...

1. Add-on for SAP: No transports need to be imported at the turn of the year. The current origin texts for your invoices in SAP will be provided by AEB on January 1, 2025.
2. O&P: You operate your O&P in the AEB data center. The service pack will be imported by AEB and the widget will be available from January 1. Start the widget and complete all related steps.

Important to know: Service pack in O&P

As soon as the widget is made available with the service pack, all data imports and exports from and to O&P are interrupted and only executed again after the widget has been completed.
