The Incoterm FAS stands for ‘Free Alongside Ship’. It applies exclusively to transport by sea and/or inland waterways. It belongs to the so-called dispatch clauses where the seller does not assume the costs of the main transport (Group F).
The seller delivers the goods at his own expense to the agreed port of shipment, alongside the vessel provided by the buyer. The seller is responsible for clearing the goods for export.
- Particularly suitable for bulk goods. Rarely used for general cargo and container shipments.
- Please note that when calculating the statistical value, the associated costs up to the EU external border must be added to the value of the goods.
