If you receive the messages “Routing cannot be determined", "Routing detection could not be determined", or "Routing zone list could not be determined" in Carrier Connect, this, for example, may be due to the fact that you have not used the “GB” country code for shipping to Northern Ireland, but “XI” in the address data of the shipping order.
The customs-specific country codes, such as “XI”, are not accepted by the systems of the transport service providers. The routing and validation data expect a country code according to ISO-3166 (alpha-2), such as “GB”. This also applies to the communication with the transport service providers via web services.
Examples of differing customs/country codes are:
- Serbia: Country code for customs declaration “XS”, country code according to ISO-3166 “RS”
- Northern Ireland: Country code for customs declaration “XI”, country code according to ISO-3166 “GB”
If a transport service provider requires a different country code, this is processed via a carrier-specific mapping list that is already automatically stored in the respective carrier configuration in Carrier Connect.
Using special territories, for example Northern Ireland:
The “XI” country code is only valid for customs declarations, therefore you must use the “GB” country code in combination with a special territory “XI”.
Select type of declaration for export to GB:
The type of declaration for export is “EU” for GB.
