In the second quarter of 2026, Dutch customs systems DMS and DECO will receive new release updates. DMS will be updated from version 1.3 to 1.4 /1.4.1 and DECO from 2.0 to 2.10.
The exact go-live date hasn’t been communicated yet by Dutch customs. As soon as it is known, we will update the information in this article accordingly. Subscribe to this article to receive updates as push notifications (email).
Please find below a first overview of the changes that will be part of the new releases.
Changes in DMS:
DMS 1.4.1 will contain:
- Resolutions of the known errors from the previous DMS versions
- Changes in validations in relation to CERTEX
- A new file upload functionality that allows to submit documents requested during a customs control directly to DMS via the new message types IE446 (Import) and IE546 (Export), replacing the former document submission via email.
Changes in DECO:
Also, for DECO, the file upload functionality will become available with the new release 2.10. Related to that, the existing IE460 (control notification) message will be adapted, and the new message types IE438 (reminder to submit documents) and IE446 (document submission) will be introduced.
What do you need to prepare for:
AEB’s Customs Management will support the new feature to send documents directly to DMS as well as the other changes coming into effect with the new releases.
Please prepare for possible changes in your processes accordingly. As soon as the functionality has been implemented in Customs Management we will inform you about testing capabilities.
If you are importing or exporting goods that are affected by CERTEX make sure you submit all the required declaration data correctly as new validations will come in place. Customs Management will support you by providing additional status checks with regards to that.
We will also provide a detailed migration guide which will be available here in the Help Center soon.
