Kernel 4.4: Product-specific aspects

The changes available with the update apply to all already updated AEB Engines. Futhermore, there are additional changes for some products. These will be provided here:

• Application Service Manager (ASM) in combination with SAP plug-in
• ASSIST4 Warehouse & Inventory Management: Mobile applications

• Monitoring & Alerting

Application Service Manager (ASM) in combination with SAP plug-in

If you are using the Application Service Manager (ASM) as interface for your SAP plug-in, make sure you have installed the SAP® Java Connector version 3.0 or 3.1. Read more in this article: Kernel 4.4: Updating the SAP® Java Connector in AEB applications for communication via RFC.

• The ASM was upgraded to kernel 4.4 with the February 2023 service pack.
• In future, this requirement will affect all AEB applications with SAP plug-in that are migrated to kernel 4.4 and which use the ASM as an interface for your SAP plug-in.

ASSIST4 Warehouse & Inventory Management: Mobile applications

Your mobile applications run on the AEB application “Application Service Manager” (ASM). The ASM will be upgraded to kernel version 4.4 with the February 2023 service pack. As a result, you will benefit from many optimizations with a new look & feel when using the mobile applications. For information on this, see the article Kernel 4.4: Get to know the new look & feel.

Logistics Cost Management

After the kernel update to version 4.4 with the May 2023 service pack, you will find all filter and search fields in the new filter chips. Previously these fields were available to you in the right-hand wizard area. You can still use your favorites as usual.

Monitoring & Alerting

Product Classification

In Product Classification, in addition to the changes mentioned above, we have optimized the processes for you as part of the kernel update: From now on, you will start your classification processes in the new Classifications overview. Here, you get an overview of your entire worklist. You can now find your materials in the master data.
