AEB is discontinuing the further development of version 2.3 of the Origin & Preferences Add-on for SAP as of August 30, 2025.
- The end of maintenance for this version is December 31, 2027. A release upgrade to version 3.0 is mandatory by then.
What are the added values of the new version?
- With the new Origin & Preferences version, you will benefit from numerous improvements and advantages.
- The integration has been technically optimized – files are no longer required for data exchange. Instead, data is transferred from the SAP system to Origin & Preferences via a web service. This eliminates the need for monitoring when writing files and transferring them via FTP.
- If you are still running Origin & Preferences on-premises, the new version of the add-on is a prerequisite for moving to the AEB Cloud.
- Functional changes to trade agreements no longer need to be imported into the SAP system via transport, as they are automatically made available in the AEB Cloud. In addition, new jurisdictions such as the UK will only be available with the new version.
- A further advantage is the relief of your SAP system, as the data for Origin & Preferences is no longer stored redundantly in the database.
- A new web UI for the overview of thresholds improves usability and makes it possible to integrate this information in other places as well.
- With this version, installation is possible via the Add-on Installation Tool (SAINT), which greatly shortens the installation time of service packs.
