UPS has revised the WorldEase label specifications for the shipping countries EMEA, US, Asia, and Canada. The WorldEase exemptions (UPS EMEA) for the use of 4x6-inch label paper (destination countries CH, GB, and/or NO) no longer apply.
The new label templates become available to you in Carrier Connect with the May 2025 service pack:
- First customer systems from May 19, 2025
- Standard systems from May 26, 2025
The use of the new labels is not mandatory initially, so there is no need for you as an existing customer to take any action.
Why you might want to switch to the new label templates anyway
- The new label templates now all have a standardized 4x6-inch label size. Your advantage: You no longer need an additional printer for other label sizes. Exception: You are using an access point. These labels now have the size 4x8 inches instead of the label size 4x11 inches.
- In the longer term, UPS will only accept the new label templates (a specific date has not yet been defined).
How to add the new label templates in the carrier configuration and delete outdated templates
If you are using UPS EMEA with WorldEase exemptions for the use of 4x6-inch label paper (countries of consignee CH, GB, and/or NO), you must first diable the exemption(s) (Carrier configuration – Accounts sheet – open account – WorldEase field group – “Exempt. CH”, “Exempt. GB”, and/or “Exempt. NO” options.) Please note that “LaserQuer” label templates will no longer be available for printing on laser printers in the future.
- Go to Master Data – Carrier configurations and open the relevant UPS carrier configuration (EMEA, US, Asia, Canada).
- On the Documents sheet, click Generate suggestion to add the current standard documents. You can recognize the new label templates by the suffix “-Single” (e.g. “UPS_WorldEase-Single_Label”). Any documents that have already been deleted will reappear. Therefore, remember the original list of your documents in order to delete unwanted documents again.
- Confirm the prompt as to whether documents that are no longer offered in the standard should be deleted with “Yes”. The labels that you may have used for your WorldEase exemption will also be deleted.
- Save and close the carrier configuration.
You can use the new templates directly, no coordination with UPS is necessary.
