- If your company manages AEB products for various companies, this article is relevant for you.
To be able to use several AEB accounts for the same person, this person needs several personal email addresses. IT admins can easily create these email addresses.
We recommend using plus addressing because it is the simplest solution for most companies. If this is not an option for you, you have the following alternatives:
Plus addressing
You can add a tag to an email address using the plus sign (+). Emails to this extended email address are forwarded to the actual mailbox.
How to use plus addressing
- Add a tag to the actual email address, e.g. the tenant name for which the AEB account is to be set up.
Actual email address: name@company.com
Plus addressing: name+tenantname@company.com - Check whether emails that are sent to the actual mailbox via plus addressing are actually forwarded there.
- It is possible that the function must first be activated with your email provider. Clarify the procedure for this directly with your email provider. Plus addressing is enabled by default for Exchange Online and Gmail.
Email alias
You can set up an alternative email address for a mailbox. Emails to the alias address are forwarded to the actual mailbox.
How to use email aliases
- Add an alternative email address to your mailbox.
Actual email address: name@company.com
Email alias:: name-tenantname@company.com- For detailed instructions, please contact your email provider directly, e.g. Microsoft – Exchange Online or Google – Gmail.
- Check whether emails sent to the email alias are actually forwarded to the actual mailbox.
Email distribution list
You can enter the actual mailbox as the recipient for a new distribution address. If you refer several such distribution addresses to the same mailbox, you will have an inbox in which all emails to the various distribution addresses can be found.
How to use the email distribution list:
- Create the required distribution list address.
Actual email address: name@company.com
Email distribution list: name-tenantname@company.com - Enable external accessibility of the new distribution address.
- Enter the actual mailbox as the recipient for the distribution address.
- For detailed instructions, please contact your email provider directly, e.g. Microsoft – Exchange Online.
- Check whether emails sent to the distribution address really arrive in the actual mailbox.
- If you want to use several AEB accounts simultaneously, select the option to browse in incognito or private mode in your browser menu. Otherwise, login credentials may overlap during use.
Why does one person need several email addresses?
Each AEB account can only belong to one tenant. If you use AEB products for other companies, it is likely that you will need access to multiple tenants. You can access a tenant via your AEB account.
