In Export Controls, you can create manual restrictions to map embargo regulations for areas of consignee, destination, and buyer, such as Luhansk or Donetsk in Ukraine.
Creating manual restrictions
First, define an area in the Master data. Go to Compliance and open Areas:
Click New. Enter the area name on the Area sheet and the country code and the postal code zone on the Postal code zones sheet. If necessary, enter a name on the Cities sheet.
Here is an example for how the sanctioned regions can be mapped as an area:
If you want to use the defined area in Export controls, maintain an associated manual restriction. Under Export Controls, open the Manual restrictions entry.
After you have assigned an ID to the manual restriction, maintain information on the Countries/Partners sheet:
- Please note: The restrictions on Donetsk and Luhansk include exports and imports. For this reason, not only buyers/consignee/end users but also suppliers (sellers/consignors) must be checked.
Adding manual restrictions to the check profile
The manual restriction is then added to all relevant compliance profiles in the relevant jurisdictions (e.g. Export Controls EU, Export Controls US-EAR, or in your own additional jurisdictions):
Finally add the newly created Manual restrictions to the Export Controls EU, Export Controls US-EAR, or Additional jurisdictions sheets:
You can select them from the list:
