In order to be able to continue to guarantee you an up-to-date content service with regard to the provision of commodity numbers and export control numbers in the SAP plug-in of Product Classification, we have asked you to make a customizing change in the plug-in at short notice.
If you have been requested to do so, this customizing change must be implemented promptly in all SAP systems connected to Product Classification (development, test, and production systems).
For this change to also take effect in SAP, the previously stored settings of the catalog ID in the classification master data profiles must be adjusted. This setting is used to write the master data of new commodity codes and export control numbers to the SAP standard tables:
- T604 and T604T in ECC6.0
- /SAPSLL/CLSNR and /SAPSLL/CLSNRT in S/4HANA
- If no master data profile is defined, there is no data comparison. In this case the master data has to be updated manually or via other features.
If the corresponding profiles are defined, master data is updated at the following points in time:
- During retransmission of a classification to SAP® in Product Classification. (The classification knows its catalog and hence also which master data is to be defined.)
- Synchronization of the classifications with the SAP® system (one-time)
You can find the classification profiles in the SAP plug-in of Product Classification on the Customizing sheet. Please change the catalog in the SAP development system and transport this setting to the SAP production system as soon as possible.

Setting in the Product Classification plug-in from version 4.0.1:
The following profile types are possible:
Type | Explanation |
SAP export/import commodity codes |
If a profile of this type is defined, a comparison with the T604 table can be made. This type is not supported in SAP S/4HANA systems. New value:
|
SAP classification commodity code |
When defining a profile with this type, the comparison with master data for commodity codes is made in the /SAPSLL/ tables. This type is supported for SAP S/4HANA systems only. New value:
|
SAP classification control class |
When defining a profile with this type, the comparison with master data for control classes is made in the /SAPSLL/ tables. This type is supported for SAP S/4HANA systems only. New value:
|
A catalog ID must be specified for each type. The catalog defines which master data is to be compared.
The SAP export/import commodity codes type additionally requires the country of the plant because the master data for commodity codes in table T604 is maintained in a country-dependent manner.
The SAP Classification comm. code, SAP Classification cust. tariff number, and SAP Classification control classes types additionally require the specification of the number scheme under which the master data for commodity codes is to be maintained.
