1. In case of printing problems, always check the following first:
Is the appropriate printer type selected?
In Carrier Connect, go to Master data – Printer and check whether the appropriate printer type for your model is assigned. If this is not the case, select the appropriate printer type.

Is the correct printer driver version installed?
Have you installed the Nicelabel driver in the shared version locally or on a print server?
You can find the currently supported driver version for your printer model in the AEB Service Portal under Downloads – Other – Software: driver for printers.
Are the printer driver default values correct?
Check the default values of the printer driver.
The following parameters should be set up in the printer driver via Printer Properties – Advanced – Defaults under Page Setup after installation: Width: 4 inch / 10.16 cm – Length: 6 inch / 15.24 cm
Does your label media match the print mode (thermal-direct, thermal-transfer)?
Labels for direct thermal printing turn black when exposed to heat. Scratch the label with your fingernail. If you see a black line, then it is a direct thermal printing label.
2. If content on the label is cut off, proceed as follows:
In Carrier Connect, labels are designed in portrait or landscape format. A landscape label is printed rotated 180° on the printer. Consequently, shifts or truncated content must always be viewed in the print direction:
- If content on the label is cut off on the left or right in the print direction, check whether the label roll is inserted correctly.
- If content is cut off at the top or bottom in the print direction, calibrating the printer can help to re-read the media (labels with gaps, continuous labels).
- In addition, check whether the media type on the printer and in the Nicelabel driver is correct in relation to the label type used.
3. If the quality of the printed label is poor, check the temperature settings:
If labels are printed too pale, you can try to achieve a better result via the temperature settings on the printer.
- It is recommended to approach a better result iteratively from the average value of the temperature settings. Excessive temperatures can cause problems when printing barcodes.
