Printer settings in the printer and driver must be configured correctly. This is the only way for your system to recognize which label size is in the device, which print mode is to be used, and which medium is being used. Windows can then prepare the printout accordingly.
Set label size
Set the correct label size in your printer driver.
- Manufacturers often offer to use the “printer settings” during installation. This is preferred and recommended by us.
- For the “Use printer settings” option, the printer must have been configured correctly beforehand (see the user manual for your printer model).
Default 4x6-inch label size
The default label size for shipping labels is usually 4x6" (101.4 x 154.6 mm). This may vary depending on the requirements of the transport service provider. Other dimensions can also be used for customized labels.

Printing a test page
As soon as you have defined the label size, you can print a test page to check the result. When using the recommended Nicelabel printer drivers, a separate Nicelabel test page with a frame corresponding to the label size is offered within the printer driver.
