Useful information on laser and thermal printer settings
Laser printers
For laser or office printers, the key parameters are usually set correctly immediately after installation. The paper format is generally DINA4 and therefore the same for all printers.
Thermal printers
This is different for thermal printers. Before use, you must adjust the settings individually to your requirements and your printer model:
- Set label size: Usually 4x6 inches (101.6 mm x 152.4 mm)
- Type: Thermal transfer or direct thermal, continuous, single labels, or with marking, etc.
Each manufacturer of thermal printers uses its own printer language, each with its own advantages and disadvantages.
Depending on the settings in the AEB product, we will supply you with the finished and suitable stream. As a rule, you will receive this with the correct label width and the setting “Use printer settings”. Default setting: If this option cannot be selected, “Direct thermal” is used by default.
You can also receive PDF files. You must set your driver and printer settings correctly before printing for the first time.
- You can make adjustments to the print file via native printer settings, see User guide: Creating printers.
