Status chain of an EMCS movement (submission)

New

The EMCS movement has been newly created and still requires additional information before you can send the draft e-AD/e-SAD (message N_EAD_SUB).

Complete

The EMCS movement is complete; you can now send the e-AD/e-SAD (message N_EAD_SUB).

The EMCS movement also reverts to this status if you receive a functional or technical error message from the customs office in response to the draft e-AD/e-SAD (N_EAD_SUB).

Sent

You have sent the draft e-AD/e-SAD (N_EAD_SUB) to customs and are awaiting a response.

Valid

The customs office has validated and accepted the draft e-AD/e-SAD.

You have received the validated e-AD/e-SAD from customs (message C_EAD_VAL), which includes the unique administrative reference code (ARC). This message also provides the e-AD/e-SAD in PDF format, which you can print out.

The goods transport can begin.

Completed

The consignee has discharged the EMCS movement and accepted the goods in full; you have received the report of receipt (C_DEL_DAT). This completes the EMCS movement.

Rejected

The consignee has discharged the EMCS movement but did not accept the goods in full.

You are now obligated to send a change of destination for the rejected quantity of goods. If you designate yourself as the consignee of the rejected portion, you must then discharge the EMCS movement yourself.

Change destination

You have sent a change of destination (C_UPD_DAT) to customs and are awaiting a response.

Canceled

You have sent a request to cancel the EMCS movement (C_CAN_DAT) to customs and are awaiting a response.

Delayed

You have received a reminder from the customs office due to a missed deadline (E_EXC_REM).

Shortage/excess

You can send the customs office explanations for shortages/excesses (message C_SHR_EXP), which customs will then validate and confirm.

Explanation sent

You have responded to a reminder by sending the customs office an explanation for the delay (C_DEL_EXP).

Invalid

The EMCS movement was canceled and is therefore invalid.
