When EMCS is available again

The next steps vary for EMCS (DE) and EMCS (UK), depending on the status of the EMCS movement (submission) from which you started the fallback procedure.

EMCS (DE): Fallback procedure started from “Complete” status

You must electronically transmit the draft e-AD/e-SAD to the customs office as soon as the EMCS is working again.

Proceed as follows:

1. Open the EMCS movement (submission) with the status of Deferred message required.
2. Use the Assistant to transmit the message N_EAD_SUB (draft e-AD/e-SAD) to customs.
3. Edit this EMCS movement (submission) the same as any other.

EMCS (DE): Fallback procedure started from “Sent” status

Once the EMCS system is working again, you’ll receive a message from customs for the original EMCS movement (submission). The status then changes to Valid. Change the destination of this EMCS movement to your own location.

Proceed as follows:

1. Open the original EMCS movement (submission) with the status of Valid.
2. Change the destination to your location: Changing the destination of EMCS submissions.

EMCS (UK): Fallback procedure started from “Sent” or “Complete” status

You must transmit the draft e-AD to customs as soon as EMCS is available again.

Proceed as follows:

1. Open the EMCS movement (submission) with the status of Deferred message required.
2. Use the Assistant to transmit the message N_EAD_SUB (draft e-AD) to customs.
3. Edit this EMCS movement (submission) the same as any other.
