Configuring address types. This is how you check people, companies, or means of transport.

In Compliance Screening, it is possible to distinguish between different address types for the addresses to be checked. This lets you avoid unnecessary address matches that can arise if, for example, you screen people against the names of ships on restricted party lists.

To benefit from this change, configure your compliance profile accordingly.

• If you control a profile in Compliance Screening from an Add-on for SAP®, only set the following settings if you consistently maintain the underlying master data and after contacting AEB Support.

• If you have the rights of a Compliance administrator, go to the Office and open the profile that you wish to configure under Administration, Compliance, and Profiles. If you do not have the rights, please contact support@aeb.com.

On the Compliance Screening sheet – Address type settings field group, you will find the settings. You can configure whether the screened address and the restricted party address must have the same address type in order to produce a match. The default setting is as follows (address type does not have to match):

In addition, no address types are excluded from the check:

If you want, you can exclude certain types of restricted party addresses from the screening. When you remove one or more address types from the check, they will no longer be included in the address check.

• Alternatively, you can create multiple profiles depending on whether you want to have, for example, a check profile for people only or a check profile for ships (means of transport) only.

When running an address check and manually defining restricted party addresses, you can select the address type from the following list:

• Person
• Entity (company, organization, government agency, etc.)
• Means of transport
• Unknown

To use this feature for file checks or host system integration via web service as well, make sure that the Type field is always set to one of the above options. If no address type is assigned, Compliance Screening assumes the default setting of Unknown.

The address types have also been identified on the restricted party address side. Some restricted party lists already provide the address type, but unfortunately not all. In this case, the corresponding entries have the address type of “Unknown”, so an address check will still take place.

The European CFSP restricted party list only includes persons and entities as address types at the moment. In the US SDN list, the three address types are available including means of transport.
