In the event of a disruption in communication with UK Customs, you can report UK EMCS declarations using the fallback procedure.
The EMCS movement (submission) must have a status of either “Complete” or “Sent.”
- Open the EMCS movement (submission).
- In the Assistant pane click Start fallback procedure, or select it from the Submission menu, then click Start fallback procedure to confirm.
- The Fallback procedure tab will appear, containing a copy of the original EMCS movement (submission), from which you can print the fallback document.
- Open the copied fallback movement. The ticket number you received from UK Customs or AEB can be entered in the Additional data tab.
- Go to the Documents tab. Here you can modify the fallback document if necessary and print it via the Print/Preview button.
Completing the fallback procedure in EMCS Filing (UK)
You must submit the e-AD draft electronically to UK Customs as soon as EMCS is available again.
Prerequisite: Late submission is only possible if you have completed the printing of the fallback document. The copied movement in the fallback procedure is assigned the status “Fallback printed.”
- Open the EMCS movement (submission) with the status “Deferred message necessary.”
- Use the wizard to send the N_EAD_SUB message (e-AD draft) to UK Customs.
